Research Requests from Non-Members
Our Staff and Volunteers are NOT authorized to provide appraisals, values or authentifications of timepieces. If you have value related questions on watches or clocks you should contact a local appraiser, check your local yellow pages. For QUICK and FREE answers to your clock and watch questions you may prefer to post your question at the NAWCC Message Board, populated by numerous experts on most aspects of horology. There also is an “Archive” where you can browse through previously raised issues. The Message Board is particularly helpful regarding Pocket Watches.
To the extent practical, the Staff and Volunteers at the Library and Research Center at the National Watch and Clock Museum will also handle Research Requests from individuals interested to find out more about the history, origin and technology of a specific watch or clock. Such requests can ONLY BE HANDLED BY MAIL or by visiting our
Campus in Columbia, PA.. Please do NOT telephone or e-mail. Non-member requests for research must be mailed to: The Library and Research Center National Watch and Clock Museum 514 Poplar Street

Responses may take several weeks depending upon the volume of requests received by the research department. Instead of paying the Non-Member Research Fee you may prefer to sign up for membership in the NAWCC especially if you are generally interested in clocks and/or watches, or feel you may want to use our research services again. Members get free research help. If you would like to do the research yourself you are welcome to visit our facilities in Columbia, PA and use our extensive Library and Documentation under the expert guidance of our staff. |
