“It is a very serious and vitally important responsibility to be a member of the NAWCC Board of Directors or the NEC. This is your Association. You need to help lead it if you have the talent and commitment to respond to that challenge. Please self-nominate, using the form below.”
This is a call for nominations for NAWCC’s elected positions to the Board of Directors and the Nominating and Election Committee (NEC) to be filled in the spring of 2011.
These positions are for three (3) directors and one (1) member of the NEC.
All terms are four years in length, and all candidates will be interviewed by the NEC regarding their eligibility against the requirements listed below. Please also note that NEC candidates must have had prior NAWCC Board, Council, or NW&CM Trustee experience and must agree not to stand for election or appointment during their NEC term.
Candidates to be placed on the ballot come from two sources. First, you may nominate yourself (“self-nominate”) or have someone nominate you. Second, you may run by petition.
There will be at least two but not more than five nominated candidates for each open position. If more than five nominations are received for each position, the bylaws require the NEC to reduce the number to five per candidate by selecting the best qualified to place on the election ballot. The ballot will be placed in the February 2011 Watch & Clock Bulletin, and the election closes on April 1, 2011, with results announced soon afterward.
You may also run by petition. This requires 250 valid member signatures (with membership numbers included), and no limit is set on the number of candidates who can run by petition and be placed on the ballot.
You are encouraged to self-nominate. A prepared nomination form is available on the Members’ Documents page of the NAWCC website or by contacting Pam Lindenberger at 717-684-8261 ext. 210 or

. A copy of the form is also available in the June 2010 MART. Completed nomination forms and/or petitions must arrive at NAWCC, Inc., 514 Poplar St., Columbia, PA 17512 (attn: Steve Humphrey) no later than September 30, 2010.
A similar call for nominations (but not for petitions) to fill appointed Director positions will appear in the December 2010 Watch & Clock Bulletin. The Board will be looking to appoint three (3) Directors from this second group.
