Founded in 1943, The National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, Inc. (NAWCC) is a nonprofit scientific organization that serves as a unique educational, cultural, and social resource for its membership and the public at large. Members include hobbyists, students, educators, casual collectors, and professionals in related retail and manufacturing trades. The one common bond (and main membership requirement) is a fascination with the art and science of timekeeping (horology).

The National Watch and Clock Museum was officially opened to the public in 1977 with fewer than 1,000 items. Since that time, the collection has increased to over 12,000 items and the museum has undergone several expansion projects. Today, the museum is recognized as the largest and most comprehensive horological collection in North America.

Designed to provide training in traditional and modern watch and clock repair, the NAWCC School of Horology opened in 1995. The School offers comprehensive diploma programs as well as short avocational courses.

The National Watch and Clock Museum Library and Research Center is one of the largest horological libraries in the world. Housed within the Watch and Clock Museum, the collection consists of over 30,000 books, catalogs, and periodicals dealing with all aspects of the study of time and timekeeping.

NAWCC Marts

A mart is where members have the opportunity to buy, sell, or trade horological items. Marts can take place at regularly scheduled chapter meetings, larger regional meetings, or yearly national conventions.

NAWCC Field Suitcase Workshops

The Field Suitcase Workshops provide technical repair and restoration training to collectors at an affordable cost, and within a reasonable distance from their homes. The FSW currently offers clock repair, lathe, and pocket watch courses and is seeking ideas for other courses and also for volunteers to assist or develop new courses for this program.

The NAWCC Bulletin

The Bulletin contains absorbing, abundantly illustrated articles on historic, artistic, and technical aspects of timekeeping. Experts answer your questions, there are concise reviews of horological books, members' opinions and comments, research findings and requests, slide and other programs available to chapters, plus news and announcements of chapter, regional, and National activities.

The NAWCC MART

The MART is an informal medium of exchange in which, for a reasonable fee, you may list any horological item you wish to buy, sell, or trade... a unique means for finding items to add to your collection or reaching buyers for pieces you wish to sell. The MART also includes the MART Magazine, which is a non-advertising section that features industry and NAWCC news and reprinted articles of interest to members from other horological publications.
