This two day course is an introduction to the use of a Micro Mill. Procedures covered will center on the machining of horological watch and clock parts but can be utilized for any small part. Participants will learn the basic setup of a small mill and the utilization of commonly used and readily available tooling. Machining procedures covered in this course are the same as used by manufacturers to manufacture watch and clock parts Topics covered will include * Milling Machine Characteristics * Milling Machine setup * Selection of readily available tooling * Precision Drilling, Boring and Milling * Crossing and Skeletonizing * Precision Bushing and depthing This is a hands on workshop open to both the beginner and the advanced student. The workshop will be held at the NAWCC School of Horology on Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 8:00 and 4:00. This includes two 15 minute breaks and 1 hour for lunch. |
