Thank you for your interest in The National Watch & Clock Museum®!

This fascinating journey begins in our theater with a ten-minute, educational video, “Time the Underlying Order.” This brief historical look at the influences of time on our lives is a wonderful introduction to our gallery.

Experience the wonders of timekeeping over the centuries Enter the gallery and take a look at ancient timepieces including a replica of Stonehenge and continue the journey through the amazing modern technology of today.  During the journey, visitors enjoy 18th and 19th century timepieces; culturally-inspired pieces from Europe, Asia and America, and discover how unique timekeeping evolved to meet the needs of the railroad, military, automotive and maritime industries.

We offer something for everyone as you take part in hands-on discovery of timekeeping components, witness the figurine movements of the Engle Clock once considered to be the eighth wonder of the world, explore watch making machinery, and travel back in time to a replica of a jeweler’s shop and a cabinetmaker’s workshop.

Gallery visits usually last between one and two hours depending on individual interests and itineraries.  We’ve discovered that most visitors are happiest with a self-guided tour. This gives you the opportunity to spend as much – or as little - time as desired in any particular gallery.  Our gallery guards are very friendly and love sharing their knowledge with visitors – feel free to strike up a conversation! The museum is fully accessible with plenty of parking, ramps, level galleries, wide hallways, and comfortably appointed rest rooms. We also have one wheelchair available.   Visit our website for special exhibit schedules.

“Yours, Mine, and Hours,” the Museum shop, has a wide array of timely treasures from fine timepieces and unique gifts to clothing and educational toys. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover, and are always glad to ship items. A small snack bar offers a variety of beverages and light refreshments.

Museum hours are April through December 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Tuesday through Saturday, and noon to 4:00 PM Sundays.  January through March the museum closes at 4:00 PM and Sundays.  The museum is closed Mondays, major holidays and on occasion due to inclement weather. Our facility is fully accessible with plenty of parking.  Excellent dining and hotel accommodations are nearby.
