In 1822, Mr. Webster and Whitcomb formed the American Watch Tool Company, one of the early manufacturers of American Lathes. They created and manufactured the Webster Whitcomb lathe seen here. The dividing head and threading attachment that accompany the lathe were made by Richard M. Davis a watchmaker in Baltimore, Maryland.
