Milling Machine, c.1880
Davis, R.
Baltimore, Maryland

A milling machine can be simply defined as a machine which uses a multi-tooth cutter which rotates as it moves horizontal or vertically across the work. Milling machines are often used in machining metal and are particularly useful to horological work which requires shaping metal pieces. This milling machine was made by Davis Precision Tools and comes with three cutting and filing heads, one tool rest and a set of brass indexing wheels.
