Screwhead Tool Set, c.1900
Unknown
Unknown

The screwhead polishing tool was used to create a flat, highly polished surface to the head of a screw. Using the three polishing heads (called laps), the screw was given a rough polish, then a medium polish and then given a final mirror polish. The screw would be rotated back and forth a full 360 degrees with the palm of the hand, while the polishing lap was rotated with the other hand only about 30 degrees.
