This type IV Radio Room clock measures time only. The silver-plated brass dial was designed to comply with requirements set forth by the Federal Communications Commission in 1941. The twenty-four hour numerals are marked in black. The two areas in red (at three and nine) denote three-minute periods of silence while the red markings in the outer circle signal four second alarms. The black hour and minute hands shows Greenwich Mean Time. A nickel-plated hand (now missing) would have indicated local time. The aluminum hand marks the seconds. Donated by Dr. Warner D. Bundens, FNAWCC #1177 |
