The National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors, Inc., is a nonprofit, incorporated association of over 30,000 members, that was founded in 1943. NAWCC Headquarters, including the publishing offices of the Bulletin and the MART, the National Watch and Clock Museum®, the Library and Research Center, and the School of Horology, are located in Columbia, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. (see DIRECTIONS)

Designed to provide training in traditional and modern watch and clock repair, the NAWCC School of Horology was officially opened in 1995. The school stands in a separate building west of the headquarters complex and programs in Watch and Clock repair are taught at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.

The School of Horology is licensed by the Pennsylvania State Board of Private Licensed Schools and is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology-ACCSCT.

The NAWCC School of Horology has been favorably adjudicated by the United States Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service and is authorized to accept and enroll M-1 non-immigrant students for training. Further information may be obtained at the School.

The NAWCC School of Horology has fully equipped class/lab rooms for clock and watch repair classes. There are work benches in each classroom that are furnished with the necessary tools and materials needed during each class. The student-equipment ratio is 1:1 for all ordinary tools.

Small hand tools are available for the students’ use during the classes, however, students must purchase their own tools to work with in class. In doing so, students will become accustomed to the feel, performance and care of personal equipment. Tools may be purchased individually or in kits from the school or may be purchased from outside vendors. A list of needed tools will be provided.

The clock and watch classrooms have projection monitors allowing students to view small parts and fine manual work on a television screen. The rooms are well lighted and situated to receive the optimum amount of natural lighting.

Separate student lockers, a break room and a large lecture room add to the School’s facilities.

The National Watch and Clock Museum®

Students enrolled in repair program courses are admitted, at no additional charge, to The National Watch & Clock Museum. This facility, the largest of its type in the United States, illustrates timekeeping history with over 8000 items from the 16th century to the present day.

The NAWCC Library and Research Center

The NAWCC has one of the largest research libraries in the world containing over 2,500 research volumes and more than 21,000 US patent copies. The Library and Research Center staff is available during and after class hours to facilitate student needs. Instructors allot time during school hours, when necessary, for library use. The Library and Research Center is also available during student lunch periods. Library hours are: Monday by appointment, Tues.-Fri. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. These hours accommodate day and evening program students.

Student services are provided in the following areas: Academic achievement, attendance and general information assistance. These services provided by the NAWCC School of Horology include housing assistance, which offers students the choice of various local accommodations.
