TardinessMaximum time allotted for lateness in any given class of the Watch Repair Program must not exceed 10% of the course’s daily clock hours. This total, 10% of the entire program, constitutes a maximum time of 8 class clock hours. Maximum time allotted for lateness in any given class of the Clock Repair Program must not exceed 10% of the course’s daily clock hours per day that constitutes a maximum time of 7.5 class clock hours. Students exceeding 10% lateness must repeat the course to continue the program. Because of the close environment, students entering the room late become a distraction, not only to the Instructor, but to other students as well. However, in the event that a student is late getting to class, make-up work for missed lectures and lab work will be left to the Instructor’s discretion. Excessive tardiness, exceeding the allotted times for such behavior, can result in student termination from the program. Termination is imposed at the discretion of the School Director and the Instructor. A student’s progress report will also be a determining factor. Termination is also imposed by the School Director for, but not limited to, missed class time, nonpayment of tuition and unsatisfactory conduct resulting in acts deemed detrimental to the class and the Instructor. Leave of Absence PolicyOnly under extreme conditions (severe illness or death in immediate family) will a student be allowed a leave of absence from either program. This absence will be permitted by the School's Director with the provision that the student be able to continue in the program at the point of absence. If this cannot be accomplished, the student must withdraw from the program and re-enter at a later date. Student must be able to achieve a completion date of the prescribed 1.5 times the program length. Conduct PolicyStudents may not attend class under the apparent influence of any type of drugs or alcohol. Machinery operated under such conditions will be in violation of safety regulations. Firearms and weapons of any description will not be permitted on the premises. Such behavior will be cause for immediate termination of a student. Probation PolicyA student, whose poor conduct and attitude is reflected in the ability to progress may, at the combined discretion of both Director and course Instructor, be placed on probation. If a student does not maintain an academic average of 75%, the student is put on probation. The student may retake the course at their own expense and must achieve a 75% passing grade to be taken off of probation and advance to the next level of the program. However, students repeating courses may not exceed 1.5 times the normal duration of the program. Termination PolicyThe School reserves the right to terminate a student's training for any of, but not limited to, the following: 1) nonpayment of tuition; 2) unsatisfactory conduct as stated in the Conduct Policy and 3) missed class time which leads to poor progress. The student not meeting the satisfactory academic average of 75% after the 2nd attempt will be terminated. The student after receiving a formal termination notice by the Director, will be issued a refund based on the number of class clock hours remaining.
