In March of 2025, the team from Bulova came to the NAWCC museum to install the new wristwatch gallery that charts a few of the pinnacles of Bulova’s 150-year history. The displays feature some very rare prototype watches along with wonderful ephemera from the Bulova archive, private collectors, and the Museum’s collection. Items on display include: Accutron 114, an Accutron Timer that can only be seen on “The Sea of Tranquility” on the moon, plus other watches etc.
We will take this Zoom opportunity to have Darold Hanson, a Bulova Accutron enthusiast, narrate and comment on these Museum pieces via Zoom as Alex Simpkins provides real time video of the collection. This is an opportunity for those who have not been to the Museum to see the collection with full commentary and the ability to ask questions. Minnesotan Darold Hanson has been a member of NAWCC since 1978 and has been collecting, researching and repairing Accutron watches for years. He released the 500+ page “The Complete Guide to Bulova Accutron Watches” in 2018. A second 500 page book will be coming out with further details on the Accutron development.
