Pocket Watch Disassembly, Lubrication & Reassembly
Description: This two-day workshop is open to all who are interested in what makes a pocket watch tick! Participants will learn about the tools and procedures necessary to remove an American pocket watch movement from its case; let down the power; remove the balance and bridge; remove the mainspring barrel and mainspring; properly lubricate the watch; and completely reassemble all the watch parts.
Equipment & Materials: Participants should bring a pair of tweezers, small watchmaking screwdrivers, magnification visor or loupe, hand remover, and an inexpensive, non-personally sentimental American pocket watch (preferably working) if you have them. If the participant cannot bring these items, the instructor will lend them for the duration of the workshop.
